I have three EE camera to connect to group 700. the first two EE4 cameras connected to the two HDCI ports and works fine.
I'm trying to connect EE3 with breakout cable to group 700 camera 4 input and controlling it through the serial port. I tried stright and null modem serial cable but still not able to control the camera. the serial port mode set to camera control.
attached the setup and connection.
anyone can advise what is the problem?
I am having an issue with the Director not cutting to a close up shot from a wide view of the room on screen. The EED CAM-R does track. CAM-R Pivots L/R in a speedy time. EED has been calibrated numerous times in the set up admin RP G500 settings menu.
Yes, Room is well lit.

We have several HDX and they all come with a list of sample sites for video-conferencing purpose. However, I think they are all out of date. I have tested the following IP sites and none of them are answering:

I have a question regarding the Polycom display settings. When multiple sites a connected via video conference, all the sites are displayed on one screen only (instead if there is no content share then the far end participants should be divided over both screens). Earlier it would display the far sites on both the screens but now all far sites are displayed on one screen and the local site is displayed on the other screen.
I have been troubleshooting it with no luck and when I turn off PIP (From web interface) for the 2nd monitor, this is what happens:

PS. I also noticed that on the Polycom remote, the “Display” button does not work. If someone has displayed it, is there a way to enable?
Previously in the 5.X software, during a VC call I could have the system set to have Monitor 1 show Far End and Monitor for Near End / Content Sharing, and during non-VC calls if I was sharing content, it would just show the content on both screens.
Now with the 6.0 software while there are a lot of layout options to configure on each Monitor, I can't get it to replicate what we had in 5.X without having login to the system web interface to switch the monitor profiles depending on if we are in a call and out of a call.
I hope this makes sense.
I mean I can set both Monitor 1 & 2 to Content, then Far, then Near and outside of a VC call content shows up on both screens, but then when I make a VC call and go to share content, I'd like Monitor 1 to show just the Far End, and Monitor 2 to show Content / Near.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have understood that the Group 300 does not support MCU, but if all calls the 500, should work?
In polycom realpresense Group series 500 multipoint, how type of license we need? One site or multipoint license need?

Just would like to know what are the possible causes of Group Series systems that hangs up.
After bootup, as you can see the GS user interface it freezes (cannot navigate on the screen)
We did hard reset but still the same.
We had it repaired with Polycom (Out of warranty repair) and all is working now. Just would like to know the cause of the issue, so we can avoid this from happening again.

I work for a school district and we have some distance learning classes using a realpresence group 300. The local college has a realpresence group 500 model. Lately, we've been having sporadic issues with the video not connecting and when it does we are still not able to see the content video the teacher is showing. From what I understand, the other districts that call in aren't having the same issues.
For us, Monday the teacher was out and the guy who initially called in didn't do it correctly, then when we would call back we didn't have video for the 8 am class. The 11 am class also still didn't have video. I tried at 3:30 and everything worked fine. Tuesday everything worked fine, but I was told the content video wouldn't show up from the college end, but it did for other high schools connected. Today we are back to not having any video.
The first class starts here on our campus before normal school day so there aren't any bandwidth issues at that time. I'm the only IT guy here and don't recall any settings or firewall changes that would affect things. The internal ip of our device has been put in our web filter as standard bypass. I'm fixing to upgrade the software to version 4.3.2 to see if that improves things, but was hoping you guys might have other suggestions on settings to check or logs that would be helpful. Thanks!

We have two installations of GroupSeries 500 with latest software version 6.0.0. Both systems have 1080p and EagleEye Producer licenses. The systems have been on the latest SW release for a couple of days, and we more or less immediately after upgrade started to get situations where the systems froze and need a restart. Nothing have been changed on the network or the firewalls. .
Is this a bug og a known issue? Have you had other reports like this? When will next patch be released?
We have a mix of HDX 7000s and 8000s (some behind the firewall, some not, all on software version 3.1.11-53024), and we're having an issue which renders the units unable to make any calls. When we try to place a call, we get the “Your call could not be completed because the call was routed through an intermediate network that does not service the far site. Contact your network administrator for assistance” error message. Whenever this happens, we connect to the web UI and notice that all DNS servers are missing in LAN Properties. When we attempt to re-add them using the web UI, they never save. The only way to get them back is to completely reboot the unit. After that, the DNS servers reappear on their own.
The DNS servers are not being removed manually, and it's reached a point where this happens almost daily to multiple units.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now these days facing problem of at the time of confernce some of remote location is disconnected if reconnect the remote location its cannot connect. when i reboot the hdx 6000 system after that its connect.

I am trying to upgrade the firmware of Realpresence group 500 (release-6.0.0-280932) with USB as per guidance of polycom administrator manual but i am getting error lost.dir when connect the pandrive on RPG500 codec usb.the system get in normal mode.

Recently upgraded 4 Polycom Group 500 series endpoints to version 6.0.0-280932. Since that time, any time we do a point to point from one of these 4 endpoints, one of the locations does not receive any audio or video, but the other side receives audio / video without any issues.
If two of these same endpoints dial into the a 5310 MCU , video / audio for BOTH sites pass through without any issue. Looking at the CDRs I noticed that for point to point, H.264-HP (high profile) is used, but when the systems go through the MCU, just H.264 is being used.
Could High Profile be the issue and how do I disable it? Bandwidth is not a concern for us.
I'm having issues with a Polycom Touch Control unit paired with a Group Series 500. We've had several complaints from people who have had a really sluggish experience when using the Touch Control.
I was thinking it could be a networking issue, so I checked the LAN properties and the duplex is set to half. I tried changing it but there doesn't appear to be a way to manually set the duplex, even if the rest of the network properties are set manually.
I checked the switch and the port is set to full duplex, so it doesn't appear to be auto-negotiating it either. Any suggestions?
