RealPresence Touch monitors

Hi,

I found, that Group 310 needs additional licence for touch monitors integration (Group Series 300 or 310 Enhanced Display Software License. Enables two features.  1.) Enables 2nd monitor output (HDMI) on codec. 2.) Interop with supported touch monitors in either single or dual configurations.  Valid for Group 300 or 310 only).

Does Group 500 also need some licences or this feature is enabled by default?

Does anyone have some good/bad practice using touch monitors?

Thanks.

Unable to make calls HDX 7000

Hello,

We have 4 HDX 7000 units in our office and every morning we have to reboot the devices so they can make calls. It's not fallen out from the network because I can connect to it using the web interface without any problem but cannot make calls. It always says "Call has ended". I have turned off the screen saver as well. Replaced the switch which the devices are connect to. Also this happens during the day time. All the settings looks OK. As an example we make a call at 9am and around 12pm the system cannot dial out. So I have to login to the web interface and reboot the device or devices.

Software Version: Release - 3.1.11-53024

Has anyone experienced this? Please help. This has been happening for the past 6 months now.

Thank you.

Hello,

This is my first time posting here.

Is it possible to integrate our S4B Online to our HDX 8000 ? I've read in the past years on forums that it wasn't supported unless it is On-Prem. Is that still the case ?

Any help appreciated

Thank you much!

RealPresence group 700 and microphone on the RCA input

$

Anyone using the two RCA inputs on a group 700 for there third-party microphones? I've got a system that runs 6.0 and I am not able to hear the incoming audio in a call. When I look at the "audio meters" I do see incoming sound at more than 0db, so that seems to be right.

The manual tells use to enable "Use Input for Microphone" when you want to enable microphones on audio input 1 or trough a line-level mixer to the AUX audio in, but that seems to be missing on a group 700 release 6.0

Do I miss something? is there a setting that is preventing the audio into the call? hope someone has some experience with this, any help is appreciated.

Update the firmware HDX-8000

Greetings,

So I have a Polycom HDX 8000.  Lost user name and password to access system, dont ask.  Anyways performed a Factory Reset...again dont ask why.  Now I have no video and no network.  Yes DHCP scope is correct and working, no firewalls or other issues.  The real question is when you are performing a USB update and you have your TXT file at the root with the associated software also at the root.  TXT file formatted with Keycode<TAB>SerialNumber but the system will still not update, is it asking for a key selection (prompt Yes/No) and can you do that from the remote Blindly?  Can anyone provide the necessary steps to take to make it upgrade or update?

PS Switching to DVI from remote is no go.  Waiting on shipping for component cables.

Thanks.

Video and Audio only when Group 300 endpoint uses H.264High protocol

$

We have a Group300 endpoint setup and working flawlessly in the UK when connecting to another Group series endpoint in Taiwan. However when trying to connect to our Group300 IP address using the RealPresence Desktop app or the iOS app the call will always connect but connecting with working video and audio is intermittent. When the call connects ok I have noticed that the protocol the Group300 unit is using is H.264High, when it connects with no audio and video (100% packet loss in the stats) it is using H264 (standard).

An answer to the following questions would be appreciated and would help me troubleshoot the issue.

What determines the protocol to use? Bandwidth availability?

Is there a way to force H.264High?

Would using H.264High use different ports to standard H.264 so I can check our firewall (again).

Thanks in advance.

As per topic subject, please can someone help me out with;

i) Maximum field of view; Looking at the specification sheet for the EE 3, I can see it says: 270-degree panning radius. Does same apply for the Director unit as a whole?

ii) Please can the max recommended mounting height be advised?

Thank you for your help in advance.

RealPresence Group Series provisioning using cloud

Hi,

I am responsible to integrate a provisioning solution into our product for Polycom RealPresence Group Series devices. Seeking a way to do this I found out that there is an option to connect the device to a cloud. But when reading through the product offerings of Polycom RealPresence Cloud, I have the feeling that this is much more than a provisioning cloud service.

Is this product that I need to integrade for provisioning purposes?

Will the pricing information have an option for provisioning purposes only - to start with?

Thanks,

Connecting via a Mobile Network to HDX displays a Private Address (via the internet)

Good afternoon.

I am trying to use a mobile phone (on Vodafone mobile data connection), either using Android RealPresence app or via a Laptop with Telepresence tether to the Vodafone network. The RealPresence app shows the internal address issues to the device by Vodafone.

When I call the public address of our Polycom HDX, it displays the PRIVATE address of the phone. The network must be NATting this traffic for it to reach our router, however, I can't see how the HDX can possibly be displaying the PRIVATE address.

Monitoring the traffic shows that the HDX is trying to reply to this PRIVATE address. This means that the HDX is able to receive the video and audio from the phone, however, all reply traffic is lost, so the phone does not receive any data back.

To confuse things even further, the control session stays active, without a problem. It will continue to show the video and audio from the phone, however, when the HDX hangs up, the phone receives the termination of the session.

This is the same case if the device is connected directly to the router on its own public address (NO NATTING) or when going through a firewall (again with its own Public Address -> NATted to its internal address.

I'm loosing my mind trying to figure out how this is possible. As private addresses could never pass through the internet routers.

Issue between GS (and VBP 7501) and HDX (with DMA and VBP 4555)

Hi guys,

we have setup a new envorioment in our London office using a VBP 7501 (as embedded gatekeeper) and two end-point:

- GroupSeries 500 (using E164 4001)

- GroupSeries 700 (using E164 4002)

the VBP has it own public IP directly on the internet

In Rome we have a VBP 4555 (using Polycom DMA 7000 as gatekeeper) with it own public IP directly on Internet, DMA 7000 as gatekeeper (and use VBP as H323 SBC for internet call), RMX 1500 attached to DMA 7000 and various end-point, most of them are HDX 6000 and 7000

Now the problem is when we make a call directly between the end-point, from the Rome site we can see and ear the London office, but they don't see and ear us. Nothing change if the try to call directly us using the usual IP##E164, we see but on the other side no

The only way to have a two-way audio\video is to use RMX1500 (that pass from the same VBP) with a meeting room, Lodon call a meeting room inside the RMX and we from Rome call the same and everything is fine.

So I can assume that the problem is not VBP, but seems like and issue of codec (may be) between the HDX and GS endpoint. Has anyone had the same problem? The London site can call other endpoint without problem, just our Rome site :(

Any suggestion it's appreciated.

I'm attaching two network diagram from both office.

Thanks

Can Polycom company or any VC alliance or SIG do something against spammer callers / ghost callers?

$

Since two weeks, the video-conf terminal in my company started to receive unknown incoming calls.  Most of the time I ignored them.  Sometimes I would accept the call to see what it does but the connection just cut off immediately.

I have just checked this forum and found out that others have encountered the same issue.  Some call them "ghost calls", some "spammer calls", some "unwanted calls".  Whatever name we choose, we need to fight against this.  It's not just annoyance but nuisance.

Here is a few IP address of them.  Others are welcome to publish other IP addresses:

202.87.213.243

133.242.136.124

110.172.221.25

81.0.120.43

113.23.128.88

Can Polycom company do something against them?  Or some larger organization, say video-conf alliance or SIG (special interest group), if they exist, do something against them?

Thanks

Polycom Debut point to point calling

$

We've got 6 Polycom Debut units and cannot call between them - does anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

We've followed the guides on ports and NAT rules, when you dial the public IP of another of the devices, the call comes through but you cannot answer it. When you click accept, nothing happens and the call eventually times out.

What we've set:

Port 389 (TCP): For ILS registration

Port 1503 (TCP): Microsoft NetMeeting T.120 data sharing

Port 1718 (UDP): Gatekeeper discovery

Port 1719 (UDP): Gatekeeper RAS (Must be bi-directional)

Port 1720 (TCP) H.323 Call setup (Must be bi-directional)

Port 1731 (TCP): Audio call control (Must be bi-directional)

Ports 3230-3235 (TCP/UDP): Signaling and control for audio, call, video and data/FECC

Port 3603 (TCP): ViaVideo Web interface (ViaVideo users only)

So, a typical H.323 call would use 2 TCP fixed ports (3230-3231) and 6 UDP fixed ports (3230-3235) during the call.

All ports are also allowed out.

If it helps, we also cannot accept incoming calls from Zoom using their call out feature and the same public IPs.

Dear Sir,

I know that Group 500 is not support ISDN.  Are there any possibility to make Group 500 be able to call ISDN? such as use ISDN gateway  (I'm not sure group 500 can support ISDN gateway or not)

Rgds,

Jane.
