Far End Not Reachable (New ISP?)

Hi Everyone, 

 

We're having some difficulties with one of our Polycom Real Presence windows applications, which had been working before. 

 

Making a call outside of the proprietory network into our bridge, we're finding the application 'trying' to call, and then eventually seems to time out with the message "Far end not reachable". 

 

This is on WIFI connection. 

 

Once we swap to a hotspot 4G connection, the application works fine and succesfully dials into the bridge. 

 

As a result, I've ruled out subscription, firewall, port and anti-virus issues. 

 

Anyone have any suggestions on what else we can try?

 

PS. The user calls in from home, and has mentioned that they recently swapped Internet Service Providers for their home internet, and believes it may be related. 

 

What do you think?


EEIV Digital Extender -- Two Cameras to use in Group 500

Does anyone projected this situation (attached) to use two cameras EEIV on a Group Codec 500 for example, using 2xDBA-Camera,1xDBA-Codec, HDMI MAtrix and Control Processor?

 

Is that possible to work?

Software Key for Polycom HDX 7000 Update

Hi,

I am new to this forum. We have bought HDX 7000 VC im 2011 and I am trying to update the software. While doing the upgrdation it is asking for software update/Software key and we don't which key we have to provide for software update.

 

Current Version: 3.0.3.1-19040

New Version: 3.1.11-53024


Our reseller also not knowing the update key and aslo he didn't remember the actvation code of Polycom.

 

Where can I get this key?

Software 6.0.1 special feature for GS 700

To improve the reliability of the GS 700 Polycom has introduced a new feature in the software release 6.0.1 that enhances the ventilation flow.  Please update your GS 700 to get this enhancement.

 

from the release notes:

Maximum Ventilation Option

The Maximum Ventilation Option reduces thermal stress to the power supply by increasing the fan speed

from 35% to 80%. This is useful when the system is used in higher thermal areas such as enclosures with

limited ventilation, 24/7 operations, hosting multipoint calls and sharing content.

 

By default the option is checked On resulting in the increase of the fan speed up to 80%. The fan runs at a

lower speed (35%), thus reducing the fan speed and increasing thermal stress on the power supply, when

the option is un-checked.

 

The Maximum Ventilation Option is applicable for the Polycom RealPresence Group Series 700 system only.

 

To set the Maximum Ventilation Option:

In the web user interface, go to Diagnostics > System > System Log Settings > Maximum Ventilation

Option.

 

Group Series 500 Remote Logging

I have 10 Polycom Group 500 series endpoints on firmware version 6.0.1-340040.

 

I'm trying to enable remote logging on the endpoints. After inputting the IP address, the "Save" button is greyed out. 

 

Does remote logging work only with RealPresence Resource Manager?

Could you recommend something? What is the requirements for USB heatsets compatibility?

Backing up Group 500 profiles using SolarWinds Orion NCM

I am trying to automatically backup the profiles from multiple RealPresence Group 500 using SolarWinds Orion NCM.

 

NCM can connect to the units via SSH, and login, but because the CLI on the unit does not issue the prompt until a CR LF is issued from the user, NCM waits for ever and times out after getting all the outpot from exportprofile.

 

Has anyone figured out a way to do this with NCM or by changing a setting not listed in the Integrator's Reference Manual?

 

Is there a way to copy the profile using TFTP, FTP, SFTP, FTPS, or SCP?

Unable to make calls on public ip between 2sites

I have a polycom hdx8000 codecs installed into 3 sites, each site has its own internet service and connected through lan network calling hdx between sites is successful through lan private ip numbers, but i am unable to connected any two or 3 sites through public ip address each hdx is behind a cisco router and nat-overloading is implemented cisco router , how can i make codecs connect through public ip as well as private and i also have a polycom rmx1000 i know its not supported but if anyone can help with a solution 


Group 500 vs Office365

Is there any news about the Office365/SfB Online integration for Group 500? Our Polycom dealer used this as a selling point against Cisco, and we purchased the Group 500.  We was told this would be working from October/November, but still there is very little information about this. Anyone who has an update regarding this?

 

 

Bearer capability not authorized - Group 700

We have two installations of Polycom RealPresence Group 500 and one Polycom RealPresence Group 700. They are all installed with 1080p and Skype integration licenses. From time to time we use an external Acano video bridge when having VC with Cisco equipment or web-based users. We have now run into a problem with the Group 700 installation where we cannot dial the Acano solution. The following error message is displayed on both the monitor and the touch panel when dialing:

 

The caller has requested a bearer capability that the network can provide, but the user is not authorized to use. This may be a subscription problem.

 

The strange thing is that we do not have this problem on the Group 500 installations, only the Group 700. They are all installed in the same network segment. Currently the 500’s are running software 6.0.1 and the 700 ver. 5.1.2. We tried upgrading the 700 to 6.0.1 but the error was the same, - so we decided to downgrade again (due to the content sharing problem on dual monitors in ver. 6.0.x).

 

The 500's are using SIP with preferred UDP protocol. The configuration have been set up 100% identical, but still the error is there on the Group 700. Has anyone seen the above error message before? Any ideas what can be wrong?

VSX 7000 show message "Call Reject"

We found VSX 7000 show message "Call reject" when we called to far site. so when far site called to us but no problem.

Do you know why VSX 7000 show "Call reject" ?

Hi guys

Maybe somebody can advise about a problem what I'm having with one of our Group 500's Software version 5.1.0_06-250533

Previusly when the system was in a call and somebody shared a content the system just accepted this and the content was visible form the meeting room.

Settings haven't changed and now when I try to share content with the Group 500 for example from a SFB client I get an error message the room has declined your invitation and content is not visible this can be shared to other units with same config and firmware

GS 500 and H.323 through Cisco 2911

We have a GS500 on site here and I'm having a heck of a time getting video calls to work through H.323. I can make H.323 audio calls, and I can also make SIP audio and video calls. H323 video calls always fail. I have an externally IP assigned to the device with all ports open to it currently for testing, but it still doesn't work. 

 

In testing with BlueJeans and Zoom, I see the GS500 show up in the meeting, but it never connects. 

 

In my research, I've seen several tidbits on disabling any kind of H323 inspection on the 2911, but I'm unsure how to do this.

Hi All

 

My company has just rolled out the Polycom Group 310 with Touch VC solution, I've been asked to create some eLearning and User Guides to support with the use of the hardware across the organisation.

 

I'm really struggling to find any way of screen caping the Touch Screen Device and a photo wont cut it, does any one have any idea the best way to resolve this issue?

Polycom Realpresence 500 with Lync Cloud Intergration

 So we have a realpresnce 500 system and we use Lync/Skype for Business (cloud based). I'm looking for the two to intergrate. I've been told from Polycom this is suppose to come 4th quarter 16. Has anyone heard of any other work arounds for interconnecting the two clients?

The Polycom® RealPresence® Desktop video collaboration software 3.7 release includes the following features.

 

Video Enhancements

 

The following video enhancements are included in this release:

  • The Polycom® Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) algorithm is now supported for both incoming and outgoing AVC calls. For environments or situations where consistent packet loss is noted, Polycom’s DBA capability is used in conjunction with Polycom Lost Packet Recovery (LPR) to dynamically adjust the video bit rate to eliminate or avoid packet loss.
  • In SVC calls, when there is sufficient bandwidth, the RealPresence Desktop video collaboration software increases the resolution of the active speaker to 720p.

 

UI Enhancements

 

The following UI enhancements are included in this release:

  • Display Name setting has been removed from Settings. The name is now retrieved from your profile,or the name from your provisioning results.
  • The first time you start up the RealPresence Desktop video collaboration software, you can let the application to remember your choice on the home page and bring you directly to the relevant window later.

 

Closed Captioning Support for H.323 and SIP AVC Calls 

 

You can enable closed captioning to display text transcriptions coming from a connected Polycom Group Series system. The text displays for a while and then disappears automatically. The closed captioning is available only in Latin-alphabet languages.

This feature is not available when the RealPresence Desktop video collaboration software is sharing content.
